TOUGH MORNING FOR MATTS

The Sydney Roosters took on the Parramatta Eels (10-24) in Round three of the Harold Matthews Cup at Henson Park on Saturday morning. 

It was a fast start with the first try by Eels Centre Back Cooy Parry just minutes into the game followed by a quick response from the Roosters with a try by second rower Michael Abdow, converted by halfback Brent Hawkins. 

It was a good first half for the Eels, leading into the second half with a 14-6 lead. 

A constellation try by Roosters winger Zac Sarfati gave the team a confident boost but the Eels were still dominating the second half.

It was a tough game for the Roosters on Saturday morning with errors letting them down in the second half but with only two games played so far, there is still time to improve.

ROOSTERS HANG ON TO DEFEAT FAST FINISHING EELS

The Sydney Roosters defeated the Parramatta Eels with a 26-22 win in the third round of the S.G Ball at Henson Park on Saturday.

The Roosters overcame a slow start allowing two tries within the first ten minutes but hit back shortly after with a try by hooker Alan Holten, converted by halfback Ronald Volkman. 

The Roosters stayed strong throughout first half with tries scored by fullback Moala Graham-Taufa and centre Corey Ross leading into the second half with a 20-8 lead.

While tensions boiled over in the second half with the game picking up the pace and getting more fiery, the Roosters were still dominating the game.

It was a good afternoon for the Roosters as they stayed undefeated throughout the second-half taking home a great win and confidence leading up the the next round.
