Talking Points | Round 12

With the Roosters set for their second consecutive afternoon battle today at the Sydney Cricket Ground, let's run through the big talking points from the week.

INDIGENOUS ROUND

NRL Indigenous Round aims to highlight significant social issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

It is also an opportunity for the game to cement its commitment to the Indigenous community and celebrate the unique relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and rugby league.

The Sydney Roosters will be wearing a special Indigenous jersey this afternoon, designed by prominent Indigenous artist, Kylie Cassidy.

The Sydney Roosters match worn and signed 2020 Indigenous jerseys are now available for bids through online auction, with all proceeds to be donated to the KARI Foundation.

SQUAD RESHUFFLE

With Josh Morris ruled out of the line-up this week, there's been a re-shuffle to the side that will take to the field

Mitchell Aubusson is set to return to the left centre position, while Nat Butcher will take his place in the starting line-up in the second row alongside Sitili Tupouniua.

With a number of players missing this week, there are opportunities for members of the squad to stand tall.

'Next man up' mentality

FIRST DEBUTANT OF THE YEAR?

With three debutants remaining in the 19-man squad ahead of kick off, could we see our first NRL debut of the season this afternoon?

Daniel Suluka-Fifita, Christian Tuipulotu and Egan Butcher hold the final three spots in the line-up, all yet to make their first grade debut in the NRL.

Suluka-Fifita was added to the interchange bench last night, but the final 17 wont be confirmed until 2pm this afternoon.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT THE SCG

For the first time this season, the Roosters will play an afternoon clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

This will be just the second game played at the SCG this season, marking an exciting occasion this afternoon with another opportunity.

"We love going home," Assistant Coach Craig Fitzgibbon said to RoostersTV.

"We won't hope, we will be putting on a good display for everyone there."
