A beautiful day on the Central Coast saw 260 students participate in the annual Central Coast Roosters Primary School 9’s competition.

On the 4th of November, the Central Coast NRL and the Sydney Roosters hosted twelve Central Coast schools in a 9’s Junior Gala Day.

An impressive 20 teams in both boys and girls categories gathered at Morry Breen Oval for a day of footy fun and skill learning.

The enthusiastic kids were certainly excited to finally get back onto the field after a long break!

The thrilling games were broken into 9-minute halves and displayed an array of talent that was great to watch.

The action was non-stop in the boys category, with twelve teams competing across 3 pools. The players displayed lightning-fast running mixed with stepping skills that would fool even Tedesco!

Each team defended with passion and desperation to ensure they had the best chance for the Finals.

In the end, Bateau Bay Public School was too much for Brisbania Public School beating them 14-6 in a tough final game.

When the girls hit the paddock, eight teams competed across 2 pools and exhibited the future talent of Central Coast women!

They were fearless in tackles and ran with strength and determination. The talent that was displayed was exciting and inspiring to watch.

At the end of the day, Umina Public School was too hard to handle taking the 36-4 victory over the strong Blue Haven Public School girls.

The Roosters would like to thank all the schools that participated in the day and congratulate their students on a great performance and having an outstanding attitude.

Unfortunately, the parents were not able to attend due to the Covid-19 protocols, but it was great to have the kids finally back out on the field.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
