As we push towards 2021 and excitement begins to build for the new season, let's look back to some of the great wins that Sydney Roosters Members have enjoyed over recent seasons at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roosters Members and supporters missed a number of opportunities to see the Tricolours live throughout the season.
As it currently stands, the Club is set to host many more Members and supporters at stadiums all over Australia next year for the 2021 season.
The best way to be present at games and be a True Rooster is to commit to the Club as a Member. While enjoying some of these classic SCG matches, be sure to check out our Membership options so you can be a part of the action in 2021.
Be A True Rooster
ANZAC Day at the SCG
The traditional ANZAC Day match is always a special day for the Club.
The Roosters will host the 2021 ANZAC Day game, which means all reserved seat Members will be able to watch the big game from their reserved seat.
The last time the Roosters hosted the ANZAC Day clash against the Dragons was in 2019. The Roosters shot out to a 14-0 lead at half time, but tries to Zac Lomax and Matt Dufty closed the margin to four points in the second half.
It would take a big effort from the Tricolours, and a moment of pure brilliance from Siosiua Taukeiaho to ensure the Roosters walked away with a 20-10 win over the Dragons.
Great to see in action
Since moving to the SCG in 2019, the Roosters have developed a potent home ground attack that has ensured some of the most memorable four-pointers in Club history.
Roosters Members and fans were blown away by one performance in particular back in 2019, when a ruthless attacking performance from the Roosters locked in a 58-6 win over the Titans on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
With two tries and nine goals, Latrell Mitchell scored a whopping 26 points equaling the same total he recorded when scoring a hat-trick and six goals against the Tigers earlier in the season.
Brett Morris led the way with a hat-trick within the first 20 minutes, while Sam Verrills scored his first NRL try just before full-time to cap off a great day for any Rooster.
After posting some big scores in 2019, the Roosters continued to pile on the points at the SCG in 2020.
After a record breaking 59-0 win over the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium earlier in the season, the Tricolours put together another strong showing against the Broncos in round 16 with a massive 58-12 win in front of the Roosters faithful.
Sitili Tupouniua, Daniel Tupou and Josh Morris scored two tries each as the Roosters crossed the try-line 10 times. After leading 24-6 after half-time, the Roosters continued to push forward, scoring close to a point per minute during the second half.
Being present for a True Rooster
Despite a limited capacity crowd, as many Members as possible were at the SCG to celebrate Mitchell Aubusson’s club record 303rd NRL game in 2020 against the Cronulla Sharks.
Aubusson scored a first half double, while Luke Keary also scored two tries to inspire the Roosters to a 34-18 win in the Club’s last regular season home game in 2020.
Being a Member is a great way to support the Club. Due to a limited capacity in 2020, Members had priority access to secure tickets for the milestone game.
