Sydney Roosters Appoint David Misson as Head of Performance

The Sydney Roosters have added cross-code experience to its football department with the appointment of David Misson to the role of Head of Performance.

With more than 25 years experience, Misson has held high-performance and leadership positions at some of Australia’s most respected and successful sporting organisations, including AFL clubs Sydney Swans (2001-2007), St Kilda Football Club (2008-2011) and Melbourne Football Club (2011-2019).

Misson’s vast experience has also included key performance roles with Australian Cricket Team (1998-2000), Australian Rugby Union (1994-1997), NSW Cricket (1997-2005), Tennis Australia (1994-1997), NSW Institute of Sport Track and Field (1996-98) and the Sydney Swifts (1996-2007). Misson was also the head conditioner for the North Sydney Bears (1996-1997).

David is very highly-regarded in his field and we are pleased to welcome him to the Roosters in the role of Head of Performance.

Roosters Football Manager Chris James was delighted to welcome Misson to the Club.

“David is very highly-regarded in his field and we are pleased to welcome him to the Roosters in the role of Head of Performance.

“In this role, David will oversee the development and implementation of our high-performance program, and with his strong background in research across a number of sports as well as his extensive experience working within high-performance teams at the elite sport level, we have no doubt that he will be an excellent addition to our program,” he added.

Misson will officially commence his role when the NRL squad returns for pre-season in November.
