The Sydney Roosters are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Olsen Filipaina.
Filipaina, Rooster #780, played 9 first-grade games for the Club in 1985, taking over the goal-kicking duties midway through the season and guiding the Roosters to a three-match winning streak from Rounds 23-25.
But it was the classy five-eighth's performances on the international stage where Filipaina truly shone, playing 28 Tests for New Zealand, including an 18-nil upset of Australia while playing for the Club's reserve grade side.
The Sydney Roosters extend their heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Olsen Filipaina at this time.
