First Game Changer Program a Resounding Success

The involvement of Roosters players Victor Radley and Joseph Suaalii has left a lasting impression on participants in the first Game Changer program.

The 2022 Game Changer Program, run by former Rooster David Shillington alongside NRLW player Millie Boyle was a resounding success in helping participants with their NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) goals.

Suaalii and Radley were on hand throughout the five-week program, aimed at helping inspire opportunity and helping to improve the quality of life of participants, who graciously took time out of their hectic schedules during the State of Origin period.

The pair got themselves involved with indoor and outdoor activities, with Suaalii taking to the basketball court while Radley was back on the pitch at Waverley Oval to engage in some touch football.

Having the Club’s support and star players like Joseph Suaalii and Victor Radley take the time to speak to our group to normalise the difficulties we all face in our lives, it leaves a lasting impression.

David Shillington On the Game Changer Program

Shillington, who played 73 games for the Roosters between 2005 and 2008, was thrilled with the result of the first Game Changer Program, and cited the involvement of Radley and Suaalii as major contributing factors to its success.

“We couldn’t be happier with the success of our first Sydney Roosters Game Changer Program," Shillington said.

"Having the Club’s support and star players like Joseph Suaalii and Victor Radley take the time to speak to our group to normalise the difficulties we all face in our lives, it leaves a lasting impression.

Radley Revels Game Changer Program

“Our participants had a lot of fun, which is a focus but most importantly finished with educational tools to help them move forward in various aspects of their lives.

“When professional sporting clubs and high profile athletes buy-in and support the education framework we have in place, it’s a very strong mix. There is so much we can be doing in the disability space

"The positive feedback we have received from parents and support workers has been overwhelming.”
