Kids on the Coast: Roosters Junior Clinic Kicks-Off Winning Weekend

Central Coast locals were treated to a Rugby League extravaganza on Friday morning with the Sydney Roosters' Junior Rugby League Clinic before watching their stars make the final preparations for their Round 18 clash.

The youngsters came out in force on Friday morning, with over 200 participants joining in a variety of skills-based activities including agility work, running drills and try scoring tactics on Central Coast Stadium.

Afterwards, the participants along with Members and supporters were treated to an exclusive viewing of their NRL heroes taking the field for their Captain's Run in what was a unique experience.

The weekend was made even better for Roosters Member Morgan McCarter, who with his family of six in tow - sons Leo and Joe, daughters Georgie and Rhonann and partner Mallory - made the trip from Maitland for both the Junior Clinic and the Captain's Run.

It's still a bit difficult now, but the Club has made it so easy; whether it's the ease of going to the SCG with your Member card, to these kinds of opportunities the kids get.

The proud Gold Member of nearly ten years says that the morning certainly made for an enjoyable morning for the whole family.

"This sort of stuff is fantastic," Morgan said.

"Obviously there was a lot of it pre-covid with the Members days and going to the SCG and whatnot.

"It's still a bit difficult now, but the Club has made it so easy; whether it's the ease of going to the SCG with your Member card, to these kinds of opportunities the kids get.

"It was great to see them all out there today and it was a great chance for them to build on their footy skills as well."

Son Leo was so impressed with the Junior Clinic that he was unable to pinpoint just one thing from the day as his personal highlight.

"Yes, I did enjoy it very much," said Leo.

"I didn't have a favourite part, just the whole thing. I really enjoyed it."
