Sam Verrills to Depart Roosters at End of 2022

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Sam Verrills will be departing the Club at the conclusion of the 2022 NRL season.

Verrills will be leaving the Roosters to take up a two-year opportunity with the Gold Coast Titans.

“The Sydney Roosters has been such a big part of my life, and I’ll always be grateful to Robbo, the players and all the staff at the Club for everything they have done for me, and for the memories and lifelong friendships I’ve made along the way,” said Verrills.

“While it’s good to have my future sorted, my only focus right now is on continuing to work hard and play my role for the Roosters for the rest of the season,” he added.

Having progressed from the Roosters Jersey Flegg squad, Verrills made his NRL debut in Round 6 of the 2019 season.

He capped off a memorable debut season by being a member of the Sydney Roosters’ 2019 Premiership-winning side and scoring the first try of the match.

“Sam has a ‘team first’ ethos and I’ve enjoyed coaching him and getting to know him and his family over the years,” said Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson.

“Like Sam said, we’re not done yet, and I’m looking forward to working closely with him as we build towards a strong finish,” he added.
