The Sydney Roosters are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Ken Van Heekeran.
Van Heekeran, Rooster #416, played 60 games for the Club between 1953-54 and 1956-57 as a five-eighth and centre, scoring 54 points from eighteen tries.
An Eastern Suburbs Junior, Van Heekeran played junior football for Woollahra Waratahs, before being called up to first grade in 1953, and returned to the Club in 1956 following a two-year stint in Wollongong.
The Sydney Roosters extend their heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Ken Van Heekeran at this time.
