Top 10 Highlights of 2022: Tedesco's 200th

Season 2022 provided plenty of memorable moments, and through the off-season, we'll be counting down the top 10 highlights of the year that was.

From the Head Coach to the Captain, Round 22 saw James Tedesco celebrate his 200th match in the NRL with an impressive victory over the North Queensland Cowboys.

Round 22 Highlights: Roosters vs Cowboys

Extending their winning run following the bye to four, the Tricolours were in red-hot form ahead of their skipper's milestone and looked to face off against the second-placed Cowboys in their second-to-last match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Both clubs paid tribute with a moment's silence following the passing of legendary player and coach Paul Green, who contributed heavily to the Premiership triumphs of both the Roosters in 2002 and 2013 as well as the Cowboys in 2015.

The Roosters ran in six tries to three on a picturesque afternoon, with Victor Radley setting up the first with a looping pass to Joseph Suaalii before his soft hands sent Matt Lodge crashing over for his first try in Club colours.

Tedesco: "We Can Match It With the Best"

North Queensland hit back with a try of their own to Murray Taulagi, but Daniel Tupou replied in kind, diving over in the corner to give the Tricolours a 14-6 lead at the break.

Sam Verrills fooled the defence to extend from a scrum play, and while the Cowboys' own no.9 struck with a four-pointer, after Jared Waerea-Hargreaves barged over the crafty rake had the last laugh after cementing a double.

Their opponents crossed for a late consolation try, but it was all but over as the Red, White and Blue celebrated their Captain's 200th with a 32-18 victory - their fifth on the trot.
