Judiciary Update: Crichton Permitted to Serve Ban in Pre-Season

Angus Crichton has been successful in downgrading his Grade B Reckless Striking charge following a judiciary hearing last night.

The Grade B charge, initially carrying a two-match suspension, has been downgraded to a Grade A charge, resulting in a one-match suspension.

However, Crichton has been cleared to serve his ban throughout the 2023 NRL Pre-season, under the jurisdiction of the International Rugby League.

As a result, Crichton will be unavailable for the Sydney Roosters' Pre-season Challenge match against the Melbourne Storm in Geelong, and will be available for the Round 1 match of the 2023 NRL season against The Dolphins.

Updated 23/11/2022

Angus Crichton has elected to contest his Grade B Reckless Striking offence from the 2021 Rugby League World Cup Final.

Due to travel arrangements, no official date has been scheduled for the judiciary hearing, however, Roosters Members and supporters will be updated throughout the coming days.

Should he be successful in overturning the charge, Crichton will be available to line up for the Sydney Roosters in the Round 1 match of the 2023 NRL season against The Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, March 5.
