NRL Judiciary Update: Butcher Enters Plea

Sydney Roosters have elected to enter an early guilty plea in relation to a Grade One Dangerous Contact charge on Egan Butcher

As a result, Butcher will receive a monetary fine of $1800 and will be available for selection for the Roosters’ Round 2 clash with the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday March 11.

Following the Sydney Roosters Round 1 match against the Dolphins, second-rower Egan Butcher has been cited by the NRL Match Review Committee.

Butcher was issued with a Grade One Dangerous Contact charge as a result of an incident that occurred while he was making a tackle in the 62nd minute of the game.

Should the Club elect to enter an early guilty plea, Butcher will receive a monetary fine of $1800.

If found guilty at the judiciary panel, however, Butcher must pay a $2500 fine.

Sydney Roosters has until 12pm Tuesday to enter their plea.
