Isabelle Kelly re-commits to Roosters

The Sydney Roosters are delighted to announce the re-signing of NRLW captain Isabelle Kelly.

The 2022 Dally M Captain of the Year and Centre of the Year spoke about the pride she feels to be a Rooster.

“I’m incredibly proud to call myself a Rooster. I love the club and the people in it and I can’t wait to get back into it,” said Kelly.

In her first season as captain, Kelly enjoyed a stellar 2022 NRLW season that saw her lead the Roosters to the Club’s first Minor Premiership, with an undefeated regular-season record.

Kelly was a force to be reckoned with on the left edge, scoring three tries, setting up four, and making seven linebreaks while averaging an incredible 175 metres per game.

The 26-year-old has played all but one season with the Roosters since the NRLW’s inaugural season in 2018 and is an experienced campaigner who has represented New South Wales and Australia. She was a member of the Roosters’ 2021 NRLW Premiership-winning side and the recipient of the inaugural Women’s Golden Boot in 2018.

“Isabelle’s leadership is invaluable and whether it’s at training or during a game, she leaves everything out there and pushes those around her to keep improving, so it’s terrific to have Issy re-commit to the Roosters,” said Roosters NRLW Head Coach John Strange.
