Anzac Day Cup Match Declared a Sell-Out

The traditional Anzac Day match between the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons has sold out.

An Anzac Day tradition since 2002, this will be the first match between the sides at the new Allianz Stadium.

“Roosters and Dragons Members and supporters, and rugby league fans alike, have shown their excitement for this historic event on a day of such significant national importance, and we are thrilled to announce a sell-out for the return of the Roosters v Dragons Anzac Day Cup match to Allianz Stadium,” said Roosters CEO Joe Kelly.

Allianz Plaza (located between Allianz Stadium and the SCG) will be in operation from 12.30pm and will feature a mini two-up arena as well as a number of activations and food and beverage options. Gates will open at 1.30pm with the curtain raiser between the Australian Defence Force Rugby League and Australian Fire Fighters Rugby League kicking off at 1.50pm.

The 2023 Official Anzac Ceremony will commence the formal proceedings at 3.30pm which will include the Anzac Day Cup being delivered by NRL and NRLW club greats Mitchell Aubusson and Isabelle Kelly from the Roosters and Ben Creagh and Keele Brown from the Dragons. The Ceremony will also include the Fallen Soldiers Acknowledgment, Military Cadet Band culminating in the Ode, the Last Post and both the New Zealand and Australian national anthems.

The Player of the Match at the conclusion of the game will receive the Ashton-Collier Spirit of Anzac Medal.
