Tedesco to Lead NSW for Origin II

Sydney Roosters fullback James Tedesco has been named by Brad Fittler to Captain the NSW Blues in State of Origin II at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday June 21.

The match marks Tedesco’s 10th game leading NSW and his 21st consecutive appearance for the Blues, equalling rugby league legends Danny Buderus and Tim Brasher.

Since returning to the Roosters following the series opener, the Skipper has been a stand-out performer, claiming three tries in two matches. Leading from the back he notched a combined total of 347 run metres in rounds 14 and 15, breaking 17 tackles and assisting with one try.

Tedesco Gets His Second

The Blues will be looking to bounce back from their Game I defeat in Adelaide in their quest to reclaim the Origin shield after a 2-1 series loss in 2022.
