The Sydney Roosters will celebrate Licensed Clubs Round this weekend to acknowledge the vital contribution that Easts Leagues Club, and other Licensed Clubs, make to the Rugby League Community.
Members and fans are encouraged to call into Easts Leagues Club over the weekend, whether that be in Bondi Junction, Berkeley, Kingswood or Waverley, to say thanks for all the assistance provided to local sporting teams and the broader community.
Easts Group have pledged $30,000 to affiliated Junior Rugby League Clubs in the last 12 months, with donations assisting in the building and maintenance of grandstands and playing surfaces while also supplying thousands of playing kits, from grassroots level to elite competitions.
Last year Licensed Clubs rallied to support flood-affected regions in Northern NSW, providing more than $250,000 in financial support, including a $50,000 contribution from Easts Group.
$20,000 of Easts’ donation was also shared with Mullumbimby Rugby League Club, who have hosted the Club’s NRL pre-season camps previously.
Licensed Clubs Round 2023
NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said Licensed Clubs were the lifeblood of the Rugby League community.
“Licensed Clubs Round is an important initiative that provides all of us with an opportunity to say thank you to licensed clubs for the support they have provided over a long period of time,” Trodden said.
“The financial contribution they make to our game is reflected in many ways and they played a vital role in helping clubs that were impacted by the floods in 2022 get back on their feet.
“It is one of the great traditions of our game to head back to your local club after a hard-fought game and I encourage everyone to show their support this weekend.”
