Sydney Roosters 44 def North Sydney Bears 6

In their first-ever match in the inaugural Lisa Fiaola Cup, the Sydney Roosters thumped the North Sydney Bears 44-6 in a nine-try performance.

Winger Irae Savea and prop Lacey Cross bagged doubles in the impressive 38-point victory, capitalising on a solid 20-nil half-time lead to claim their first points of the new season.

Central Coast Roosters 12 def Newcastle Knights 6

The Central Coast Roosters' Lisa Fiaola Cup side also got onto a winning start to their inaugural campaign with a closely-fought 12-6 win over the Newcastle Knights at Morry Breen Oval.

Taking a close four-point lead into the break thanks to a try to centre Breanna Bigeni, the Tricolours doubled-down soon after with fullback Mia Vaotuua crossing, before winger Jayda Durham sealed the victory late in the contest following a Newcastle hit back.

In a gallant effort at Belmore Sports Ground, the Sydney Roosters Harold Matthews side were downed by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 30-16.

Taking on the defending Premiers on their own turf, the Tricolours fought back from an early 18-4 deficit at the break, with a quick-fire double to halfback Lachlan Metcalfe and try to Cohen Dittmann bringing the side back to within eight points in the final ten minutes.

Unfortunately, a late try to the home side sealed the result, with the Roosters now looking to claim their first points of the season against Balmain next Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Central Coast Roosters enjoyed a bye week to start their campaign, and will take the field when they host the Canberra Raiders in Round 2.

The defending Premiers continued their dominance into the second stanza, keeping their opponents scoreless until the final minutes to kick off their campaign to a strong start.

SG Ball | Roosters Claim High-Scoring Affair

Sydney Roosters 36 def Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 26

A high-scoring affair at Belmore Sports Ground saw the Roosters claim a 36-26 victory over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in a memorable start for Jake Friend's side in 2024.

Despite conceding two tries in the opening sixteen minutes, the Roosters went into the break trailing by just four points thanks to a late try to halfback Toby Rodwell.

Come the 50th minute and a try to winger Baxter Warner saw the Tricolours claim the lead, with a further three four-pointers pushing the Tricolours to a two-score victory to begin their campaign in style.

Andrew Johns Cup | Leweniqila Hat-Trick Bucks Colts

Central Coast Roosters 26 def Monaro Colts 10

A hat-trick to Semi Leweniqila propelled the Central Coast Roosters to victory against the Monaro Colts in the opening round of the Andrew Johns Cup.

Despite their opponents crossing first, the flying winger crossed twice in the span of four minutes, with another try to Carter Mareko giving the Tricolours a handy 16-6 lead at half-time.

Leweniqila bagged his third soon after, with Mareko's second sealing the victory for the Red, White and Blue in a solid 26-10 victory.

Laurie Daley Cup | Roosters Keep Colts Scoreless

Central Coast Roosters 14 def Monaro Colts 0

Defence was the name of the game in the Laurie Daley Cup Central Coast Roosters' victory over the Monaro Colts at Morry Breen Oval in their opening round win of the season.

The Roosters scored three tries to nil, with winger Samisoni Talakai striking in the tenth minute for an early lead to the home side.

Both sides looked to trouble the scoresheet, but it wasn't until half an hour into the contest that the Roosters doubled their advantage for an 8-nil half-time lead with a try to centre Sam Gillespie.

A late four-pointer to fullback Sean Bullen sealed the result in the 60th minute, with the Roosters keeping their opponents to nil in a perfect defensive display.
