Senior Representatives Teamlists: Sunday, 6th July, 2025

The Sydney Roosters have announced their senior representative teams for matches being played this Sunday.

NSW Cup Team (Round 18):

Sydney Roosters NSW Cup Coach Brett Morris has named his team for Sunday’s clash with Parramatta at Wentworth Park.

There are mass changes to the team beaten last Saturday by the Westers Suburbs Magpies with so many regular NSW Cup players required for NRL duty and a few other struck down with injuries.

Fullback Ethan King and forwards Taylor Losalu, Makahesi Makatoa, De La Salle Va’a and Max McCathie have been called up for NRL duty. Five eighth Jake Elliott (ankle) and prop Xavier Va’a (concussion) were injured in last weeks clash with the Magpies and are also out. Further, winger Tom Rodwell who missed last week’s game will also miss this one as he joins McCathie in making his NRL debut for the Roosters on Sunday.

In the backline Owen Flaherty moves from left centre to fullback with Lachlan Dooner, who returned from injury in the Jersey Flegg Cup on the weekend, replacing Flaherty at left centre.

In the forwards only backrow forward Hayden Barton will start this match after starting last week. Rhys Dakin moves from the bench to starting prop where he will be joined by Aholoka Toia in the front row, whilst Tyler Moriaty moves from the bench to be the starting hooker, replacing Elliott. Ethan Roberts takes the second row spot of Aston Warwick, who goes back to the bench. Finally, Reece Foley rejoins the team, but this time as lock.

Joining Warwick on the bench are Jersey Flegg Cup forwards Jaxson Allen and Zack Visconti with one more to be added later in the week. Prop Lafi Tuinauvai has been named as 18th man. With both Elliott and McCathie out the team will be looking for a new captain.

Jersey Flegg Cup Team (Round 18):

Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup Coach Dean Feeney has named his team for Sunday’s clash with Parramatta at Wentworth Park.

Halfback and captain Josh Durkin (suspended), five eight Reece Foley (elevated to NSW Cup), left edge Ethan Roberts (elevated to NSW Cup), left centre Lachlan Dooner (elevated to NSW Cup) and prop Itula Seve are missing from the team that won their third successive match, against the Wests Tigers, last Saturday. Their replacements are yet to be named.

Hooker Jaxson Allen and lock Zack Visconti, whilst both named in the Jersey Flegg team, has also been named on the bench for the NSW Cup team, so may be late withdrawals from the Flegg Cup match.

2024 NSW Under 19s prop Fanafou Seve, who hasn’t played Jersey Flegg Cup since Round 13, has been named as 18th man.

NSW Women’s Premiership Team (Round 1):

The 2025 Central Coast Roosters NSW Women’s Premiership squad has had a major revamp. Of the 28 squad members, only 7 (Sienna Deeley, Tahlia Smith, Sharni Waters, Mahlie Cashin, Kaitlyn Whitehead, Jayla Dicken and Grace Dabin) played for the Central Coast in the 2024 competition, when the Roosters finished last. 19 of this season’s squad are teenagers whilst 3 (Talea Tonga, Meg McPhaill and Makenna Hammond) of those 19 will not turn 18 till next season.

The team will be bolstered from time to time through the season with members of the Roosters NRLW squad who aren’t required to play NRLW. Teenage Roosters NRLW development players Mahlie Cashin, Ellie Brander, Sienna Thomas and Tonga form part of the Central Coast Roosters NSW Premiership 28 person squad.

15 members of the Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup (Women’s Under 19s) squad (including Cashin, Whitehead, Dicken and Gabin), that were beaten grand finalists this season, are in the Central Coast squad, whilst two other teenagers from that Tarsha Gale Cup squad (Aliyah Nasio and Tyra Ekepati) are in the 24 person Roosters NRLW squad and may appear for the Central Coast Roosters during the season.

The full 2025 squad is: Sienna Deeley, Tahlia Smith, Sharni Waters, Sophie Smith, Milly Lupo, Lowana McDougall, Jaz Wolfe, Nikiah Campbell, Ella Knowles, Anabelle Ross, Kaitlyn Whitehead, Jayla Dicker, Grace Dabin, Logan Fletcher, Luca-Bella Ngatuere-Ongley, Manisha Seebeck, Lacey Cross, Meg McPhaill, Makenna Hammond, Fa'agase Tupuola-Palale,Tyra Dymock, Lillie McLean, Zoe Lee, Jezebel Navusolo, Mahlie Cashin, Ellie Brander, Sienna Thomas and Talea Tonga.

Like last year, there are 11 home and away rounds in the competition before the Top 4 battle it out in two semi finals to determine this year’s grand finalists. The Grand Final will be played on the last Sunday in September.

Central Coast NSW Women’s Premiership Coach Nathan Anderson remains in charge and has chosen his team for Sunday’s opening round clash with the Penrith Panthers at Wyong. Penrith join the competition for the first time, replacing Manly-Warringah.

The Roosters Round One team features NRL squad members Tyra Ekepati on the right wing, Eliza Lopamaua in the front row and Imogen Hei at hooker. All four NRLW development players have been selected with 18 year old Sienna Thomas as halfback and 17 year old Talea Tonga at five eighth. A third development player, 18 year old Elie Brander has been picked as lock and will co-captain the team alongside prop Sienna Deeley. The fourth NRLW development player, 18 year old Mahlie Cashin has been named on the interchange bench.

NSW Under 19s fullback Logan Fletcher will play on the left wing with Manisha Seebeck selected to start at fullback. 11 of the 17 players chosen for Round One will be making their NSW Women’s Premiership debut for the Club.
