NSW Women’s Premiership
The Central Coast Roosters NSW Women’s Premiership team has been beaten 36-16 by 4th placed Mounties at Woy Woy in their Round 10 clash.
The Roosters team included NRLW squad members Logan Fletcher (centre), Jayde Herdegen (halfback), Taneisha Gray (prop), Tavarna Papalii (lock) and Imogen Hei (hooker) as well as all four NRLW development players Talea Tonga (fullback), Sienna Thomas (five eighth) and interchange forwards Mahlie Cashin and Ellie Brander. It was Brander’s first match since she captained the side in Round 5 and was concussed in the first half.
Against the Mounties the Roosters conceded eight tries, four to centre Relna Wuruki-Hosea and were unfortunately outclassed. It was the Roosters 7th loss in 10 games but the experience this young team is getting in 2025 will be invaluable in their development as players.
The season concludes next Thursday night when the Roosters take on the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, who have now dropped to 4th place after a second successive loss on the weekend. Thursday’s match at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford is the first of a double header with the Roosters NRLW final regular season game, also against the Sharks.
