Injury sidelines NRLW star Tarryn Aiken

The Sydney Roosters have today confirmed that scans have revealed NRLW halfback Tarryn Aiken has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Aiken suffered the right ACL injury in the 15th minute of the Roosters’ Round 11 match against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks last Thursday. She will undergo reconstructive surgery in the coming weeks.

“Tarryn is a highly influential player and such an important member of our squad, so this news is really tough for her and for all of us,” said NRLW Head Coach, John Strange.

“She has been in terrific form and is a real leader on and off the field. While it’s a setback, and we’re all shattered for Taz, we know how driven she is, and we’ll be supporting her every step of the way through her recovery,” he added.
