The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Shawden Burton has extended her NRLW contract with the Club, keeping her in the Tricolours until at least the end of 2027.
Having progressed through the grades with the Central Coast Roosters, Burton made her NRLW debut with the Club in the opening round of the delayed 2021 competition (played in 2022). The 26-year-old has since established herself as a reliable and energetic dummy half, known for her sharp service and high work rate through the middle.
Roosters NRLW Head Coach John Strange said Burton’s extension was a reward for her consistency and commitment.
“Shawden has been an important part of our squad for a while now, and it’s been really pleasing to see her growth as a player and a person over the years,” said Strange.
“She’s a tough competitor who brings great energy and effort to everything she does, and her team-first attitude makes her a valued member of the group, so it’s great that she’ll continue to be part of our program,” he added.
Burton said she was proud to continue her journey with the Club.
“I’m really proud to be part of the Roosters and grateful for the trust the Club has shown in me,” said Burton.
“This team means a lot to me and I’m excited to keep building on what we’ve started and to continue improving over the next couple of seasons,” she added.
