Vale Paul Aquilina

The Sydney Roosters are saddened by the news that Paul Aquilina, Player No. 474, has passed away, just two months shy of his 89th birthday.

Aquilina, a hard running winger and centre, was a Roosters junior from the now defunct Avalon club, and played six first grade games for the Club in 1957 under coach Dave Brown, the 11th Rugby League Immortal.

Making his first grade debut in Round 5, 1957 against North Sydney, Aquilina played with and against some of the game’s biggest names in his brief first grade career.

Paul and his family visited the Sydney Roosters Centre of Excellence at Moore Park recently, reuniting with the Club.

The condolences of the Sydney Roosters are with the family and friends of Paul
