Roosters Return to Bondi Beach to Support Community

The Sydney Roosters NRL squad, coaches and staff spent the morning at Bondi Beach, coming together with the local community for a series of relaxed games, activities and moments of connection.

The visit was driven by NRL Head Coach Trent Robinson, who was keen to bring the squad back to Bondi following last month’s tragic terror attack, reinforcing the Club’s support for a place that means so much to so many.

Club Captain James Tedesco spoke about the significance of returning to the beach with the full squad.

“Bondi Beach is the heart of our community,” Tedesco said. “We see you, we’re proud to represent you on the footy field, and like everyone, we were devastated when the attack took place here.”

With school holidays underway, the morning was designed to restore some of the joy and energy Bondi is known for. Players and staff spent time signing autographs, posing for photos, handing out merchandise and supporting local businesses along the beachfront.

Robinson said it was important for the players to be visible, approachable and connected.

“We wanted our players and staff back at Bondi during the school holidays so families could enjoy some positive moments, meet their favourite players and feel that sense of fun and togetherness that this place represents,” Robinson said.

The Roosters also took the opportunity to check in with local lifeguards and leaders from the Jewish community, reaffirming the Club’s ongoing support for them and their families.

The beach was filled with smiles as kids proudly wore red, white and blue, met their heroes and shared in the excitement of the season ahead.

It was a simple morning, but another powerful reminder of the deep connection and love our Club holds for the Bondi community, and the importance of coming together.
