The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce two new additions to their NRLW program, with Tatum Bird and Keighley Simpson joining the Club ahead of the 2026 NRLW season.
Bird has signed a one-year NRLW contract, joining the Roosters from the NSW Waratahs’ Super W program. The 25-year-old brings composure, strong game management and experience from high-performance rugby environments. Away from the field, Bird holds a double degree in a Bachelor of Laws & Bachelor of Communications (Public Communications).
Simpson has also signed with the Roosters, adding versatility and speed to the Club’s outside backs. She made her NRLW debut with the Newcastle Knights in 2025, scoring four tries across three appearances. Prior to her transition to rugby league, Simpson played in New Zealand’s domestic women’s rugby union competition and represented New Zealand at the Under 18s World School Sevens.
Roosters NRLW Head Coach John Strange said the Club was excited to welcome both players.
“We’re very pleased to welcome Tatum and Keighley to our program. They bring skill, pace and professionalism that will strengthen our squad as we continue to build towards the 2026 season,” said Strange.
Bird and Simpson will officially link up with the Roosters’ NRLW squad when full-squad pre-season training begins in May.
