Club Weekend Results | 21st – 22nd February, 2026

The class of the Sydney Roosters Under 19s teams was there for all to see on the weekend with both teams scoring over 50 points in huge wins over the St George Dragons.

S.G. Ball Cup (Men’s Under 19s)

After two narrow victories to commence their premiership defence in 2026, the Sydney Roosters have flexed their considerable muscle in their Round 3 clash with St George at Henson Park by defeating the Dragons 52-0, after lading 22-0 at half time.

The Roosters, who went into the match missing fullback Rex Bassingthwaite, winger E.J. Mahu-Delamere and hooker Liam Bell, ran in ten tries and never looked likely to concede one. In a match played in very hot conditions, the Roosters still made a number of errors, despite the scoreline. However, when they did control the ball and play with patience they looked likely to score at any time.

Captain and Australian Schoolboys left edge forward Darcy Smith, who had an outstanding game channelling many of the attributes of his coach Boyd Cordner, scored three of the Roosters tries and the very classy Jeziah Papa, playing right centre, scored a double.

With the Roosters well in control of the match from early on, Coach Cordner elected not to bring back starting props Itula Seve (26 minutes) and Charleston Te Rore (32 minutes) after their first stints, and not to use hooker Ryan Tukapua at all, with Jack Dean-Potaka playing the full 70 minutes. Bench props Cooper Gibbs and Nathan Lopamaua therefore enjoyed far more game time than usual and didn’t let the team down.

The Roosters had many fine contributors but the skipper Darcy Smith was a stand out in this match. The victory has lifted the Sydney Roosters to 3rd on the competition table ahead of next Saturday’s clash with the Newcastle Knights at Leichhardt. The Knights have won two of their three 2026 matches. The match will kick off at 2.00 pm

The Central Coast Roosters, who had conceded 96 points in their first two games, whilst scoring just ten, have given opponents the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs a real scare before the Bulldogs defeated the Roosters 44-30 at Guildford on Saturday.

The Bulldogs raced to a 26-0 after 22 minutes and the Central Coast were staring down yet another lopsided scoreline. However, in a remarkable comeback, the Roosters ran in six tries in less than 30 minutes to snatch the most unlikely of leads at 30-26 with 14 minutes remaining. Centre Tate Bayley ran in a double and other try scorers were wingers Bodi Jeffreys and Tyriq Campbell as well as interchange players Brock Mangan and Kyran Blair. Blair was brought into the game at halfback after 27 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Roosters weren’t able to sustain the momentum they had gathered and the Bulldogs ran in three late tries to win 44-30. Whilst the loss will hurt, given the position they were in going into the final 14 minutes, the improvement from the first two games was considerable and will hopefully lead to success not to far down the road.

Now sitting 17th, the Central Coast Roosters fly to Auckland next weekend to take on the 12th placed New Zealand Warriors, who are also yet to record a victory in 2026. The match will kick off at 9.30 am (Sydney time).

Harold Matthews Cup (Men’s Under 17s)

The Sydney Roosters have gone back-to-back with a thumping 32-4 victory over St George at Henson Park on Sunday. The Roosters, who led 12-0 at half time, ran in six tries in a comprehensive victory that has lifted the team to 5th on the competition ladder after three rounds.

The Roosters halves Charlie Webb and Samuel Large were dominant and looked dangerous whenever the Roosters had good field position. Webb set up the first try with a lovely short ball to right edge back rower Riley Smart in the 17th minute before Large scored the second, with a 55 metre dash to the tryline after throwing a dummy that deceived the Dragons defence. The two halves linked up to send right winger Levi Scarlett to the tryline to score the Roosters third try early in the second half. A Webb bomb was spilled by the St George fullback soon after allowing Andy Toia an unchallenged sprint to the line for the Roosters fourth try before Webb scored the fifth try after fullback Harper Boothroyd field a kick just inside the field of play and beat a number of Dragons defenders before linking up with Webb who raced 60 metres to score. Webb was involved again in the Roosters final try linking with left centre Mana Toia, who provided left winger Fletcher Hick a clear passage to the line.

One issue of concern for the Roosters was the number of penalties conceded against the Dragons general play kickers. In some other matches later in the season such actions could prove to be far more costly than they were on Sunday.

The Sydney Roosters will now play the undefeated Newcastle Knights next Saturday at Leichhardt Oval at they attempt a third successive win. The match will kick off at 12.30 pm.

The Central Coast Roosters have suffered a second successive defeat, going down 28-22 to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Guildford, after the Roosters led 22-12 at half time. The Roosters raced out to a 16-0 lead inside the first 13 minutes, with left centre Semi Wara scoring a double inside the first six minutes.

However, the Bulldogs dominated the second half and with 11 minutes to go had brought the scores back to 22-22. Inside the last few minutes, a draw looked the most likely result but the Bulldogs were able to score with their final attacking set of the game sending right winger Oka Chan Kum Tong into the right corner in the 59th minute, with the sideline conversion giving the home team a 28-22 win as the fulltime siren was blown.

The loss drops the Roosters down to 12th spot ahead of a trip to Aukland to play last season’s premiers, the New Zealand Warriors, on Sunday. The Warriors, however, are yet to win a game this season. The match will kick off at 8.00 am (Sydney time).

Tarsha Gale Cup (Women’s Under 19s)

The Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy team remain undefeated after three rounds of the Tarsha Gale Cup, following a 52-6 victory over St George at Woy Woy. The Roosters rain in nine tries in total, after leading 34-0 at half time.

The Roosters are now top of the table having scored 118 points to 10 in their three matches of 2026. Again, the spine of fullback Mia Vaotuua, five eighth Talea Tonga, halfback Meg McPahil and hooker Mahlie Cashin were just too clever for their opposition and they were ably supported by a hard-working pack of forwards and a classy set of backs. Left centre Liesi Hopoate, lock Anastasia Leatupue and left edge back rower Jemma Wooden all scored doubles for the home team.

The Roosters next play the 3rd placed Newcastle Knights next Saturday at Mascot, with the match kicking off at 12.00 pm. The Knights defeated the Melbourne Storm 50-8 on the weekend.

Lisa Fiaola Cup (Women’s Under 17s)

The Central Coast Roosters have made it three from three in 2026 with a 36-6 demolition of the St George Dragons in their Round 3 clash at Woy Woy, after leading 14-6 at half time.

Despite missing halfback Layla Tonga and interchange players Lara Murray and Ellshah Paki due to commitments at the NSW Touch Football Junior State Cup, and prop Aallyah Temete having the week off, the Roosters were far too classy as they ran in 8 tries against the Dragons to move into 3rd place on the competition ladder.

Left wing speedster Sienna Kennedy-Wilkie scored her second hat trick of the season, running in three successive tries in a ten minute period early in the second half, taking her season tally for the year to seven. Classy prop Kewa Kahuroa, returning the team after missing the match against the Steelers last week, scored a try double, beating a myriad of defenders in each charge to the tryline, whilst five eighth Talia Berryman had another solid game for the Roosters.

Next Saturday the team play competition leaders the Newcastle Knights at Mascot in a real test to where the Club sits at this stage of the season. The match kicks off at 10.30 am.

Laurie Daley Cup (Men’s Under 18s)

The Central Coast Roosters have given up a 20-0 lead, after 22 minutes, to play out a 30-30 draw with the North Coast Bulldogs at Port Macquarie in their Round 4 Laurie Daley Cup clash.

Right centre Semi Leweniqila crossed for a double inside the first 12 minutes, taking his season try tally to five, whilst his centre partner Koby Houghton, with a try and 2 goals took his 2026 point scoring tally to 40.

The draw leaves the Roosters in 2nd place on the northern conference competition table with two rounds to go. Only the top two from each conference advance to the semi finals. The Roosters next two matches are against the Northern Rivers Titans next Saturday in Lismore before a final round clash with conference leaders Newcastle-Maitland in the final round. To qualify for the semi finals the Roosters, the 2024 Premiers, will need to win one of these two games.

The match against the Northern Rivers will kick off at 11.30 am.

Andrew Johns Cup (Men’s Under 16s)

The Central Coast Roosters have been well beaten 34-20 by the North Coast Bulldogs in their Round 4 Andrew Johns Cup clash at Port Macquarie, after the Bulldogs led 22-0 at half time.

The loss, the team’s first of the season, has left the team in 2nd position on the northern conference competition table, but due to the Bulldogs losing to the southern conference leaders, the Macarthur Wests Tigers, in their pool cross over Round 1 match, the Roosters are likely to only need one win from their final two pool matches to qualify for the 2026 semi finals.

The Roosters, premiers in both 2021 and 2024, play the Northern Rivers Titans next weekend in Lismore next Saturday before a final round clash with conference leaders Newcastle-Maitland in the final round.

The match against the Northern Rivers will kick off at 10.00 am.
