Teams have been named for this weekend’s NSWRL senior representative rugby league fixtures. The NSW Cup team play the Bears at Wentworth Park on Sunay, whilst the Jersey Flegg Cup team travel to Fiji to play the Silktails on Saturday.
NSW Cup Team (Round 14):
Coach Brett Morris has named his team, who currently sit 6th on the competition table, to play 2nd placed North Sydney on Sunday at Wentworth Park. The match kicks off at 2.45 pm.
Blake Steep (knee), Ben Johnson (knee), Cody Ramsey (NRL duty), Egan Butcher (NRL duty) and Reece Foley (NRL duty) have not been named and neither have19 year olds Rex Bassingthwaighte (fullback) and Darcy Smith (left edge), who have been playing NSW Cup in recent weeks.
However, the team does welcome back Tommy Talau (calf) and Hayden Barton (shoulder) from injury. Both failed to finish the Roosters Round 8 clash with the Dragons and have not played since.
With Bassingthwaighte not named, Owen Flaherty shifts from right centre to fullback. Flaherty’s replacement at right centre will be confirmed later in the week. Junior Pauga moves from left wing to the bench to make way for Talau’s return, whilst Pauga replaces 17 year old prop Charleston Te Rore on the bench.
Darcy Smith is replaced by the returning Hayden Barton on the left edge. Finally, a final decision on who plays five eighth is still to be made. Jake Elliott played there in Round 13.

Jersey Flegg Cup Team (Round 14):
Coach Anthony Barnes has named his team, who currently sit 12th on the competition table, to play the 14th placed Kaiviti Silktails in Fiji on Saturday. The match kicks off at 10.00 am.
The team continues to deal with a significant injury list whilst Jersey Flegg Cup eligible players Kanaan Magele, Jake Elliott, Jaxson Allen and Reece Foley are playing higher grades.
The team has also not been able to confirm whether Kade Maguire (left wing) and Julius Mitchell (prop) will be right to make the trip to Fiji, so those positions will be confirmed later in the week. One certain omission is that of interchange forward Jack Ewer who has been suspended for a hip drop tackle in Round 13. His replacement will also be confirmed closer to game day.
