The Dolphins will be out to continue a five-game winning streak when they host the Roosters in a showdown between two premiership contenders.

Kristian Woolf's men are riding high and have climbed to fifth on the ladder on the back of an entertaining attacking style of play.

The Dolphins have cracked 30 points in their past four games and crucially, their defence has also been excellent this season.

While the Dolphins will be without their Origin stars on Friday night, they will still benefit from the presence of Jack Bostock, Herbie Farnworth, Jeremy Marshall-King and Kodi Nikorima.

The Roosters will also be missing a host of big names, with seven players representing NSW and Queensland in next week's clash at the MCG.

Trent Robinson will still have experienced halfback Daly Cherry-Evans to steer the team around the park, while Kiwis prop Naufahu Whyte will set the platform up front.

The Roosters prevailed in a fiery encounter when the two sides clashed late last season and they'll be out to secure the same result at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Team News

Dolphins: The Phins line up 1-19 with no late changes. Isaiya Katoa was released from Blues camp on Wednesday and will steer the ship at Suncorp. Katoa was part of the NSW squad as cover for five-eighth Mitchell Moses. With five players in the Maroons squad, the Dolphins' depth will be tested but Kristian Woolf has backed fullback Trai Fuller, winger Tevita Naufahu, prop Felise Kaufusi, back-rower Oryn Keeley and utility Brad Schneider to step up against the Roosters.

Roosters: Trent Robinson has shuffled the deck on game day with Billy Smith moving to the centres, Egan Butcher to the bench and Rex Bassingthwaighte coming in on the wing for his NRL debut. Junior Tupou has been added to the six-man bench. Veteran Daly Cherry-Evans steps into the No.7 jumper and Hugo Savala shifs from the centres to five-eighth. Fullback Cody Ramsey returns from illness and Tommy Talau lines up on the wing after making a successful return from a calf injury in NSW Cup last week. Centre Reece Foley has been named to make his NRL debut. Toby Rodwell was added to the six-man bench in No.21 on Thursday.
