The Roosters NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup teams are back in action this weekend after having the bye in Round 18. All Roosters teams for this weekend have now been named.
NSW Cup Team (Round 19):
Coach Brett Morris has named his team, who currently sit 9th on the competition table, to play 12th placed Parramatta on Sunday at Wentworth Park. The match kicks off at 2.45 pm.
The club is still missing Blake Steep (knee), Tom Rodwell (hamstring), Ben Johnson (knee) and Cody Ramsay (shoulder) with new recruit Dietrich Roache (leg) also sidelined with injury, whilst Taylor Losalu, De La Salle Va’a, Rex Bassingthwaighte, Tommy Talau, Benaiah Ioelu and Egan Butcher have all been named in the Roosters NRL squad for Saturday.
However, with the NSW Cup match being played the day after the NRL game this round, it’s possible that some of the players named on the NRL bench for Saturday could be late inclusions on Sunday in the NSW Cup team.
In the backline Junior Pauga (ribs) return from injury on the wing, replacing Jackson Stewart, who becomes 18th man. Owen Flaherty moves from fullback to left centre with sees Aston Warwick going back to the bench, replacing 18-year-old forward Eddy Cayless. Emery Jolliffe (right wing) is not named. Replacements at fullback for Flaherty and on the right wing for Jolliffe will be named later in the week.
In the forwards Taylor Losalu is replaced by Kanaan Magele, with 17-year-old Kiwi prop Charleston Te Rore replacing Magele on the bench. Regular prop De La Salle Va’a has not been named in the NSW Cup team, following his NRL selection on the bench. His replacement will be determined at 1.45 pm on Sunday.

Jersey Flegg Cup Team (Round 19):
Coach Anthony Barnes has named his team, who currently sit 12th on the competition table, to play 7th placed Parramatta on Sunday at Wentworth Park. The match kicks off at 12.30 pm.
The team continues to be without a plethora of eligible players with an injury list headed by Aholoka Toia, Lachlan Dooner, Lui Lee, Itula Seve, Zac Sarfati, Jackson Pennell, Jackson De Lisle and Enzo Griffier and players such as Toby Rodwell, Reece Foley, Jake Elliott, Darcy Smith, Kanaan Magele, Brooklyn Heath, Rex Bassingthwaighte, Jackson Stewart, Charleston Te Rore and Jaxson Allen named in higher grades.
With those absentees confirmed for now, Barnes has not made any definitive changes to the team that lost to South Sydney in Round 17. However, the positions filled in that last match by Lance Tovio (right centre), Bo Peisley (halfback), Peter Benjamin Uini (prop), Julius Mitchell (left edge), and bench players Jack Ewer and Jasper Catton are yet to be confirmed, and are unlikely to be finalised prior to 11.30 am on Sunday.
