Iconic Australian artist joins a special celebration of Indigenous culture at Allianz Stadium

The Sydney Roosters are proud to announce that one of Australia's most celebrated recording artists and performers, Christine Anu, will headline the Club's Gadhu Gathering Match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium on Friday, 7 August, as part of the NRL's Indigenous Round.

Returning for its second year on Dharawal Country, Gadhu Gathering will transform the Allianz Stadium into a vibrant celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, featuring traditional performances, live entertainment, and more.

Christine Anu will bring her powerful voice, captivating stage presence and proud Torres Strait Islander heritage to Allianz Stadium for a special half-time performance celebrating culture, storytelling and connection.

Joining Christine Anu on the night will be the KARI Singers and Gamay Dancers, who will showcase the richness and diversity of First Nations culture through powerful performances ahead of kick-off.

Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly said Indigenous Round continues to be one of the most significant occasions on the rugby league calendar.

"We're proud to create an event that honours the culture, stories and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through music, dance, storytelling and sport," Kelly said.

"Gadhu Gathering provides a unique opportunity for rugby league fans to come together in celebration of First Nations culture, while showcasing the game's remarkable ability to connect communities through shared experiences, respect and belonging.

"Having an artist of Christine Anu's calibre headline the event will make this a truly memorable experience for everyone attending Allianz Stadium."

With fans expected to travel from across New South Wales and interstate, the Sydney Roosters encourage visitors to experience everything Sydney has to offer while attending one of rugby league's premier Indigenous Round events.

Gadhu Gathering is proudly supported by Destination NSW as the Strategic Partner and the KARI Foundation as the Official Matchday Partner, reflecting a shared commitment to celebrating First Nations culture at one of rugby league's premier Indigenous Round events.
