Jersey Flegg Cup Team (Round 23):

Coach Anthony Barnes has named his team, who currently sit 10th on the competition table, to play 7th placed Canterbury-Bankstown at Wentworth Park on Sunday. The match kicks off at 12.30 pm.

The team continues to be without a plethora of eligible players with an injury list headed by Aholoka Toia, Lachlan Dooner, Zac Sarfati, Jackson Pennell, Jackson De Lisle, Zac GIllett and Enzo Griffier, whilst aged eligible players Toby Rodwell, Reece Foley, Jake Elliott, Kanaan Magele, Charleston Te Rore, Brooklyn Heath and Rex Bassingthwaighte are currently playing in higher grades.

With uncertainty surrounding the final NSW Cup line-up a number of positions in the Jersey Flegg squad are still to be determined.

The spots held last week by Jackson Stewart (fullback), Liam Bell (hooker), Darcy Smith (left edge), Julius Mitchell (right edge), Josiah Fesolai (lock) and Kalen Cashin (bench hooker) have been left blank for now. There are no changes currently to other positions from the team that defeated competition leaders St George Illawarra last Sunday.

NSW Women’s Premiership Team (Round 8):

Coach Nathan Anderson has named his team, who currently sit 7th on the competition table, to play 5th placed Illawarra at Tuggerah on Saturday. The match kicks off at 3.00 pm.

The Roosters team will feature NRLW squad members Mia Wood (fullback), Talea Tonga (halfback), Shawden Burton (hooker), Tatum Bird (bench), Taneisha Gray (left edge) and Nikiah Campbell (right edge), as well as development players Te Raukura Leafe (prop), Logan Fletcher (right wing), Mia Vaotu’ua (five eighth) and Anastasia Leatupue (right centre). NRLW squad members Marcie Carlile and Keighley Simpson remain on the sideline with knee injuries.

The team has lost right winger Manisha Seebeck from the Round 7 loss to Newcastle to an injury, suffered on the weekend, playing in the NRLW Invitational in Wagga Wagga. Seebeck is replaced by Logan Fletcher, with Mia Wood returning from NRLW duty to replace Fletcher at fullback.

Shawden Burton, who has played all five NRLW matches this season, is back in the NSW Women’s Premiership following Tarryn Aiken’s return to the NRLW side from a shoulder injury. She will start at hooker, which sees Tatum Bird revert to the bench and Scarlet Hagan drop out of the 17.

In further changes, Tia Cook (suspended), Luca-Bella Ngatuere-Ongley and Jayda Durham are replaced on the bench by Zoe Coyne, Makenna Hammond and Felila Fakalelu. Fakelelu played the first five games of the season, scoring four tries, but has not played since.
