Teams have been named for this weekend’s NSWRL senior representative rugby league fixtures.

NSW Cup Team (Round 26):

The 6th placed Sydney Roosters, coached by Brett Morris, have a final round bye. They are relying on 3rd placed Newcastle Knights beating 5th placed New Zealand in Auckland next Sunday morning to qualify for the finals for the first time since re-entering the competition in 2023.

Unfortunately, the Knights have only won one of their last four games and were beaten 40-12 at home last Saturday by Manly-Warringah, which was just the Sea Eagles’ second win of the season. The Knights also have six regular NRL players unavailable this weekend, severely weakening the Knights NSW Cup team as a consequence.

Jersey Flegg Cup Team (Round 26):

The 11th placed Sydney Roosters, coached by Anthony Barnes, have a final round bye, and have played their last match of 2026. Their final ladder position of the Roosters will be determined after all Round 26 matches are completed.

NSW Women’s Premiership Team (Round 11):

Coach Nathan Anderson has named his team, who currently sit 3rd on the competition table, to play 2nd placed South Sydney at Redfern Oval on Saturday. The match kicks off at 1.15 pm.

The Roosters team will feature NRLW squad members Talea Tonga (halfback), Mia Wood (fullback), Shawden Burton (hooker), Eliza Lopamaua (bench), Tatum Bird (bench hooker) and Nikiah Campbell (right edge), as well as development players Te Raukura Leafe (prop), Logan Fletcher (right wing), Mia Vaotu’ua (five eighth) and Anastasia Leatupue (right centre). NRLW squad members Marcie Carlile and Keighley Simpson will stay on the sidelines for the rest of the season, with knee injuries.

Tyra Dymock (groin) returns to the team after being a late withdrawal last Saturday. She replaces Tia Cook as a starting prop, with Cook returning to the bench at the expense of Manisha Seebeck, who has been named as 8th player this week.

NRLW squad member Taneisha Gray, who filled in for Rima Butler (concussion) in the NRLW last weekend, has been not been named in the 17 currently, but may be a late inclusion, given she is listed amongst the reserves.

There are no other changes, at this stage, to the team that defeated Canterbury-Bankstown last Saturday.

To qualify for the finals, the Roosters will either need to beat the Rabbitohs or hope that either the Steelers or the Mounties are also defeated in their final round clashes next Saturday.
