The next chapter of rugby leagues greatest rivalry will be written when the Sydney Roosters host the South Sydney Rabbitohs this Thursday, March 7 at Allianz Stadium.


With just over 48 hours until kick-off, the Sydney Roosters are encouraging all supporters to head to the game donning Red, White and Blue and support their team as the clubs 2013 campaign gets underway.


Just over 8,000 tickets to whats sure to be a cracker of a night are still available, from just $15 for juniors and $30 for adults if pre-purchased.


The highly-anticipated season opener will be the 206th match-up between the sides and will also mark the Sydney Roosters 300th appearance at Allianz Stadium.


Club legend and former Sydney Roosters captain, Brad Fittler, is encouraging all Roosters fans to head out to the game and support their team.


Some of rugby leagues most memorable games have been played at Allianz Stadium and theres nothing better than playing in front of a full house.


The Roosters have the honour of hosting the season opener against their biggest rivals and all the boys will get a lift from playing in front of a vocal crowd cheering them on.


To those Roosters fans coming to the game, wear your jersey, bring your scarves and banners. Be loud and proud in support of your team. The footys almost back and I cant wait for Thursday!


The Sydney Roosters most-capped player, club legend Luke Ricketson, also encouraged Roosters fans to get to the game.


Its no secret that these two sides just dont like each other. They never have and I cant see that ever changing. Theres just no love lost between the two sides and I hope the Roosters run out to a wave of red, white and blue. Bring on Thursday said Ricketson.



Gates at Allianz Stadium open at 5.35pm with the Holden Cup match kicking off at 5.50pm and the main game scheduled for kick-off just after 8.00pm.
