Skip's Diary - Saturday

Well, here we are.

Just one sleep to go, 24 hours until the big one against the Sea Eagles at ANZ Stadium. It's on, it's real and it's here Roosters Fans.

Today was a good day.

We had a really good video session, followed by one of the most inspired training sessions I have ever been a part of. It was incredible.

The energy, the feeling amongst the group and just the excitement levels of each and everyone in the whole squad is infectious. From myself and others who have been there before, to those that haven't and including those that may not feature in the match but have been a part of it all year, it's a group feeling of readiness and eagerness to want to achieve this together.

After the session we headed out for our usual team lunch and, as always, spoke from the heart amongst one another about what it would mean and feel like to do this together.

Yes, I keep saying together and I will continue to say it, as it's what we are. We're truly one squad who love being together, love winning together, love everything about just standing together, ready for battle.

I've been fortunate enough to have been a part of a couple of these now, six in total including this one, and let me tell you they are truly something special.

From the minute that siren sounds in the Preliminary Final to the minute you take to the field in the Grand Final, it's non-stop.

It's amazing, you are truly floating on air through the whole week and every single Roosters Fan, Sponsor, Staff Member, etc.. that you see inspires you just that little bit more to make it happen.

It's a true honour to be a part of a Grand Final and that's the best way I can describe it to you.

This week I've spoken about the importance of training well, resting up, sticking to your routine, the amazing feeling around the Club at the moment, how amazing you the Fans have been and how much Jared {Waerea-Hargreaves] loves doing his hair.

All the important things, right?

Well, let me just say that writing this each day has reminded me why I do what I do. Why I'm fortunate to be able to do what I do each day. It's not a job, it's so much more and I've been as lucky as ever to do each day since I was 16.

To each of you I have seen, spoken to or even those that have just read this each day, thank you.

Thank you all for what you've helped us achieve this season. The Club has been re-built, re-born and is back where it belongs.

This place has success in the walls, it's made for winners and our history shows that. We stand tall, we stand side-by-side and we REPRESENT.

It's more than a marketing headline, it's more than a hashtag, it truly is what we believe in and what we wake up each day to do.

Now, it's time for us all to do it just one more time. Just 80 minutes to go, Roosters Fans.

It's on and it's real. Bring it on!

See you at ANZ Stadium,

Mini.
