Boyd Cordner looks set to continue his rapid representative rise in 2013 after the Roosters Vice-Captain was this morning named in Tim Sheens 20-man squad for the Kangaroos quarter-final showdown with the USA.

Cordner is one of six backrowers in the squad, alongside Greg Bird, Nate Myles, Josh Papalii, Corey Parker and Sam Thaiday, all competing for what looks to be four spots in the match day seventeen for the clash with the Tomahawks.

Following the removal of veteran Luke Lewis from the squad due to injury, Dally M Second Rower of the Year hasnt missed a match in the Green and Gold and impressed in both starts from the bench, in place of his NSW team mate.

In other selection news, the in-form playmaker Daly Cherry-Evans looks to have beaten out Robbie Farah for the utility role on the bench after two stellar performances from the Manly halfback in the final two matches of the Pool rounds.

Cordners fellow Rooster Michael Jennings has not been named in the squad with Sheens opting for veteran Brent Tate to join Greg Inglis in the centres.
