Following the World Club Challenge, in accordance with the RFL’s On-Field Sentencing Guidelines, the WCC Match Review Panel has issued a Grade B charge (High Tackle - Reckless) to Wigan Warriors player Eddy Pettybourne.
Pettybourne was placed on report in 38th minute of World Club Challenge following an incident with Sydney Roosters player Shaun Kenny-Dowall.
The World Club Challenge Match Review Committee was comprised of Michael Buettner (NRL) and Steve Ganson (RFL). The Charge relating to player Pettybourne is in accordance with the procedures and sentencing guidelines of his club’s playing league (i.e. if a Wigan Warriors player is charged, they are charged in accordance with the RFL’s On Field Compliance Procedure. If a Sydney Roosters player is charged, they are charged in accordance with the NRL Judiciary Code).
If found to have committed the offence, the player will receive a two-match suspension. If the player enters an early guilty plea he will receive a one-match suspension.
