Members and Supporters of Bondi United,
I write this letter appealing to the small minority of so called supporters who are tarnishing our clubs great name. Unfortunately the behaviour at Waverley Oval while the A Reserve team are playing is at times unacceptable.
The club will be held accountable and South’s Juniors have already fielded a number of complaints. The following sanctions could be imposed on Bondi United due to the behaviour of this small group of individuals.
• Fines
• No A grade Bondi United games at Waverley
• Expulsion from the competition
I like a beer at the footy like everyone else but unfortunately what is unfolding both with the alcohol consumption and the heckling from the crowd is painting Bondi United in a very poor light.
If the type of behaviour continues it will force the executive of Bondi United to request both Police and Council Rangers to attend the Waverley Oval games in order to deter the consumption of alcohol in a public place along with curbing the language .
By all means come and support Bondi United but do it respectfully, without the offensive language and without the excessive consumption of alcohol
The changes have to come from within so we need a bit of self-Policing and leadership up at the Oval on a Sunday afternoon at around about a quarter to 3 if we want to continue to see the Tarans grace the oval and to continue to sing the song with me.
Al Lewis
President, Bondi United
