Roosters Against Racism program hits the Central Coast

The Sydney Roosters Community Team and players Omar Slaimankhel and Nathan Smith spent the afternoon on the Central Coast last Wednesday, delivering the Roosters Against Racism message to Woodport Primary School and Star Of The Sea Catholic School, Terrigal.

Omar shared stories on his own personal experiences of racism and spoke to the students about targeted groups for racism including migrants and refugees and religious groups. Nathan led a group discussion on the different forms of racism and strategies to deal with racism.

Every child went home with a Racism Stops With Me Poster, Roosters Against Racism Fact Sheet and an autograph from the Roosters duo.

Sydney Roosters ambassador Anthony Minichiello attended Randwick City Council’s Leadership seminar, delivering an insightful presentation to members of the Council’s management team about Leadership. The Cawood Room at the Prince Henry Centre was filled with 80 Council’s Coordinators, Supervisors and Executives keen to hear from their guest speaker.

At the end of his speech Anthony invited questions from the floor to the delight of the delegates who took the opportunity to find out more about his leadership style, the role of captains, vice captains and the senior leadership team at the club and the Roosters in 2016.
