With just two days to go until we kick off against the Rabbitohs, let's look at the week that was and get the final thoughts from some of the Roosters squad.

The excitement is obvious amongst the playing squad, who are itching to play football after a long pre-season.

One of the big draw cards when it comes to this game is the return of South Sydney forward Sam Burgess.

There is a question mark over how he is going to play, but the Roosters know the threat he is and won't be taking him lightly.

"It's no secret what he brings to the Souths pack," said Aidan Guerra to the media.

"Week in, week out he is one of the toughest players in the comp.

"We can expect him to be tough and hard.

"We're expecting to play Sam Burgess at his best."

Some would fear the idea of playing any of the Burgess brothers, but Sam Moa relishes the opportunity.

"I like that, playing against the best players in the competition, and Sam Burgess is certainly one of them," he said.

The Round 1 rivalry is back in 2016, and there's set to be plenty of feeling in it.

Head Coach Trent Robinson has seen his share of Round 1 battles, and he has a good idea of what to expect.

"I expect a big game," he said to Anthony Minichiello at Team Announcement on Tuesday.

"4pm, shot clocks, interchanges, it's going to be game on and the toughest and fittest will win out in the end."
