The St Clair Comets Under-7s Rugby League Junior Footy Club braved the weekend wet to watch the Sydney Roosters take on the West Tigers at Allianz Stadium.
Mariana Ormsby, St Clair Comets Footy Club Manager, was the winner of QBE’s Take your footy team to the game competition, which included tickets to the match, return transfers, Roosters merchandise and food vouchers for herself and 54 people.
Mariana thanked QBE and the Roosters for making the day happen.
“Eighty per cent of our team are playing footy for the first time this year and until yesterday they hadn’t been around each other long enough to really get to know one another,” Mariana said.
The Under-7s were excited from the moment they boarded the coach, loved receiving the inflatable Roosters’ hands and caps and thought the pies, chips and chocolate were a delight, she said.
“I personally loved seeing their little faces excited about being together and their first ever experience in a suite. Everyone absolutely loved it, including the parents.” Mariana continued.
“This is my first year being involved with Junior Rugby League and my first time managing a team,” she said. “The fact we got to experience something like this was absolutely incredible.”
