Roosters fans would have been licking their lips when they saw Mitchell burst into the clear and torch the Raiders defence with a stunning length-of-the-field solo effort to open the scoring.

It remains a mystery just where the gifted 19-year-old will play for the Roosters in 2017, but his stocks continued to soar later in the half as he stepped off his left foot to move the Tricolours 11 points clear at the break.

Daniel Tupou didn't leave all the fun to his younger teammate, grubbering ahead and regathering to score a sensational solo try midway through the second stanza before Ryan Matterson touched down to put the icing on the cake.

Roosters 21 (Latrell Mitchell 2, Daniel Tupou, Ryan Matterson tries; 2 goals) def. Raiders 0. Half-time: 11-0.
