Roosters Re-Sign Up-And-Coming Trio

The Sydney Roosters are thrilled to announce that Latrell Mitchell, Joseph Manu and Nat Butcher have signed extensions keeping them at the Club until at least the end of 2020.

Nat Butcher, Joseph Manu and Latrell Mitchell Highlights

The trio have progressed through the Roosters lower grades, with Mitchell and Manu members of the Roosters’ 2014 SG Ball Premiership-winning side. Together with Butcher, Manu was also a member of the Roosters’ 2016 National Youth Competition (NYC) Premiership-winning side.

Since making his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2016, 20-year-old Mitchell has scored 29 tries in 48 appearances.

“I’m very proud to represent the Roosters. The Club means a lot to me, and I’m learning so much from Robbo, the coaches and senior players around me, so I’m glad that I’ll continue to be part of the team here,” said Mitchell.

Like Mitchell, 21-year-old Manu, who has made 20 appearances in the top grade since making his NRL debut in 2016, was pleased to re-commit to the Club.

“I’ve been with the Roosters since I was 17, and I love it here. We’re a tight group and I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard with Robbo and my teammates to keep improving my game,” said Manu.

Butcher, who captained the Roosters 2016 NYC side to its maiden Premiership and has played three NRL games to date, also spoke about how much he was looking forward to continuing his development at the Roosters.

“I’m really happy to have re-signed with the Roosters. I know there’s a lot of improvement in me, and I’m focussed on continuing my development and hopefully securing my opportunity to play some good football for the Club,” said Butcher.

Roosters recruitment manager Adam Hartigan was pleased to have the trio locked in to the Club’s long-term plans.

“In their own right, Latrell, Joey and Nat are outstanding young men. Their work ethic precedes them and they are terrific contributors to the Roosters both on and off the field,” said Hartigan.

“Their best football is still ahead of them, and its great news for the Roosters to have Latrell, Joey and Nat locked in to the Club’s long-term plans,” he added.

The young guns have shown their commitment to the Club in 2018, now it's your turn!
