Friend Excited To Face Former Teammates

After a solid win in Round 2 for the Sydney Roosters, they face Mitchell Pearce and the undefeated Newcastle Knights in Round 3.

Jake Friend Excited To Play Former Teammates

Captain Jake Friend addressed the media on Monday morning to discuss the clash, but mostly touched on the anticipation of facing his old teammates.

Mitchell Pearce, Aidan Guerra and Connor Watson all moved to the Knights in the pre-season which makes this weekend's clash an exciting prospect for Roosters players and fans.

When Friend was asked about facing the familiar Knights outfit, the excitement was there to see.

"It's always fun to come up against old teammates and mates.

"It'll be a good challenge for us and I'm really looking forward to it.

The new-look Knights side have won their opening two matches in gutsy fashion to kick off the season, and Friend has taken notice of them.

"I've watched them the last two weeks and they've played really well.

"I'm proud of the boys that have gone up their to do their thing, but I'm looking forward to a game against them this Sunday."
