Roosters secure inaugural NRL Women’s Premiership license

The Sydney Roosters have welcomed today’s announcement by the NRL that the Club has secured a license for the inaugural NRL Holden Women’s Premiership in 2018.

The Roosters will be joined by the St George Illawarra Dragons, Brisbane Broncos and New Zealand Warriors in the elite four-team competition which will be contested during the 2018 NRL Finals Series.

“The Sydney Roosters is a proud Foundation Club and we are delighted to have secured a license for the inaugural NRL Women’s Premiership,” said Sydney Roosters Chairman, Mr Nick Politis AM.

“The Club is committed to playing an active role in developing the women’s game and it’s fantastic that the Women’s NRL Premiership will now provide a genuine pathway to elite competition for aspiring female athletes – and an opportunity to do so in the Roosters jersey,” he added.

Following today’s announcement, the Roosters will now commence a recruitment process and will continue to provide regular updates as developments are made.
