Jersey Flegg Match Report | Round 12

A big first half from the Under 20s Sydney Roosters side saw a 24-22 win over the Bulldogs in the Jersey Flegg.

The Roosters were hot coming out of the gate, scoring their first points in the opening minutes through Jackson Frei.

It only took the Bulldogs a minute to counter when their winger Frank Kuresa found some space on the left edge and took advantage.

After some back-and-forth football from the two sides, the Roosters got their first opportunity in some time when Asu Kepaoa brilliantly intercepted a short ball and sprinted 80 metres to score, and shrugging off a couple of defenders in the process.

The flood gates were well and truly open for the Roosters as they went on to score back-to-back tries through Lachlan Lam on the back of a well executed set up by Sean O'Sullivan and a try on the half time siren to Lyndon Hills.

The Bulldogs did well to force their way back into the game to kick off the second half, scoring a neat try through their fullback Blake Clayton to make it a 14 point game.

Five eighth Alex Seve joined in on the scoring for the Bulldogs less than ten minutes later as they continued to roll on and hold all the momentum.

It took a number of good defensive efforts, but the Roosters did well to hold on.

TRIES: Jackson Frei, Asu Kepaoa, Lachlan Lam, Lyndon Hills
