Last Time We Met The Eels

The Last Time We Met the Parramatta Eels was at Allianz Stadium on a Sunday afternoon in 2017, and on this occasion the Tricolours were on fine form.

Last Time We Met The Eels

It only took a few minutes for the Roosters to open the scoring and it was through Latrell Mitchell in his return to first grade after a short stint playing in the Intrust Super Premiership.

Captain Jake Friend was next over the white stripe on the back of an inside pass from Mitchell Pearce.

Clint Gutherson went over for the Parramatta Eels on the back of a nifty set-up from former Rooster Michael Jennings, only for the Roosters to hit straight back through Daniel Tupou on the back of an Eels error.

Blake Ferguson topped off a special second half with an explosive four pointer on the right wing and his first of the afternoon.

The second half started the way that it finished for the Roosters, scoring like it was as common as kicking.

It started with a bust from Latrell Mitchell and finished with a Tupou double in the corner in what was arguably the flashiest try of the afternoon.

Jennings scored against his former club at the halfway mark of the second stanza, but the Roosters countered again with a second four-pointer to Blake Ferguson.

His centre partner would go on to join in on the scoring party, and Ferguson claimed his hat-trick in the closing moments to seal a special 48-10 win for the Tricolours.

We'll look for another strong performance when we meet again at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
