After making his debut in Round 6 against the Melbourne Storm, it was hard to deny a spot in the 17 for young gun Sam Verrills.
He won the Arthur Beetson Medal in 2018 after a standout season in the Jersey Flegg competition, and brought his impressive work ethic to the top squad for his first NRL pre-season.
The North Sydney Bears greatly benefited from his services in the first half of the season before he was given a regular spot in the starting line-up after Captain Jake Friend was injured in Round 18.
He first made his mark when he was given his first NRL start in Round 13, but his game was discussed far and wide after an outstanding 80 minute performance in Round 19, which saw him awarded the Fan Voted Man Of The Match.
His first NRL try was scored against the Gold Coast Titans in Round 20, and his final try of the season opened the scoring against the Canberra Raiders in the NRL Grand Final.
There's little doubt that Roosters fans will be excited to see what the young hooker can bring to the table in 2020.
