Vote for your 2020 VB Hard Earned Effort Of The Year

There were a number of big efforts from your Sydney Roosters in 2020, which should make for an interesting vote for the VB Hard Earned Effort of the year.

We've narrowed the choices to five selections, all worthy of being crowned this year's winner.

VB Hard Earned Effort Of The Year Contenders

ROUND 3 - BRETT MORRIS DETERMIND COVER TACKLE

"Most guys with speed will get the first guy, but to keep going and get the next one takes something else," Head Coach Trent Robinson said when discussing this moment.

After Braidon Burns made a break on one end of the paddock, it would take a determined effort from veteran Brett Morris to not only chase him down, but to get Alex Johnston down after he offloaded.

This moment is a true showing of Morris's character and determination.

ROUND 9 - TAUKEIAHO COMBINES STRENGTH AND SKILL

In the midst of a rout against the Cowboys in Round 9, Siosiua Taukeaiho offered up a monster moment to set up Sitili Tupouniua between the posts.

Taukeiaho was integral to a huge Roosters victory in Townsville, but the moment that saw him break through defenders, steal metres, wait for Tupouniua to get back onside and throw a one handed flick offload was just pure brilliance.

Taukeiaho was the winner of last year's VB Hard Earned Effort of the year for his brilliant Anzac Day try.

ROUND 13 - MAX BAILEY'S BONE CRUNCHING DEBUT

Every player wants to make an impression on debut, and Max Bailey made his presence known with a resounding thud.

His perfectly timed, determined and bone crunching tackle from the kick chase on Matt Dufty personifies what a hard earned effort is and had plenty of people talking about his toughness.

He was widely congratulated by his teammates for his efforts in round 13.

ROUND 14 - MATT IKUVALU MUSCLES UP

A major highlight from a Fan Voted Man Of The Match performance against the Melbourne Storm, Matt Ikuvalu produced one of the best tackles of the year against the Melbourne Storm.

Perfectly timed and with plenty of gusto, Ikuvalu levelled Justin Olam while the Storm were trying to work the ball out of their own end.

It wasn't his only big play of the game, but it certainly made the most noise.

ROUND 15 - CHASING WITH INTENT

Chase down tackles are common in the NRL, but it's not often that three different players from three different positions throw themselves at you from all angles.

When Tommy Talau received an intercept on his ten metre line, he looked sure to go over for the Wests Tigers.

That is until Drew Hutchison, Isaac Liu and Brett Morris all decided that today was not his day.
