John Strange appointed Roosters 2021 NRL Women’s Head Coach

The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that John Strange has been appointed Head Coach of the Club’s 2021 NRL Women’s (NRLW) Premiership team.

Strange assumes the head coaching role after acting as the Roosters’ NRLW Assistant Coach in 2020. He also enters his second season as Head Coach of the Central Coast Roosters Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership team.

The Central Coast Roosters are the reigning Harvey Norman NSW Women’s title-holders, having secured the Minor Premiership en route to their maiden Title by going through the 2020 competition undefeated under the tutelage of Strange.

John is integrated in our system and a strong skills-based coach who has been doing some great things in his role as the Roosters’ Central Coast Development Manager over the last few years, and more recently in his roles as the Central Coast Roosters NSW Women’s Premiership Head Coach and Sydney Roosters NRLW Assistant Coach

Strange will also continue in his role as the Roosters’ Central Coast Development Manager, a position he has held with the Club since 2017.

“John is integrated in our system and a strong skills-based coach who has been doing some great things in his role as the Roosters’ Central Coast Development Manager over the last few years, and more recently in his roles as the Central Coast Roosters NSW Women’s Premiership Head Coach and Sydney Roosters NRLW Assistant Coach,” said Roosters General Manager Football Programs, Craig Walker.

“We’re pleased to have secured John’s services and look forward to making further announcements about our NRLW support staff in the coming months,” added Walker.

The 2021 NRLW competition is slated to kick off in the second half of the year.
