International NRLW Trio Re-commit

The Sydney Roosters have today announced the re-signing of a trio of internationals, with Keilee Joseph, Olivia Kernick and Otesa Pule returning for the upcoming 2023 NRLW season.

21-year-old Joseph was one of the great stories of the Roosters’ 2021 Premiership-winning side, creating history by becoming the first player to progress through a Club's pathways system to make her NRLW debut in the opening round of that season.

The hard-running lock has made 12 appearances for the Roosters to date and was named Dally M Second Rower of the Year in 2022.

Joseph has represented the Indigenous All Stars (2022-2023) and made her debut for Australia at the delayed 2021 Women’s Rugby League World Cup where she played two games for the Jillaroos.

22-year-old Kernick made her NRLW debut with the Roosters in the opening round of the postponed 2021 season, playing every minute of every match in the Club’s Premiership run. She has made 13 NRLW appearances and was also named Dally M Second Rower of the Year in 2022.

The Indigenous and Māori All Star made her NSW Blues debut in 2022 and was a Jillaroos debutant at the most recent Women’s Rugby League World Cup where she played three games.

19-year-old forward Otesa Pule was the recipient of the Sydney Roosters 2022 NRLW Rookie of the Year award. She made her NRLW debut in the opening round of the season and featured in every match as the Club secured its maiden Minor Premiership.

Pule progressed to the Roosters’ NRLW side after a memorable 2022 season in the Club’s Tarsha Gale Cup side where she scored an incredible 13 tries in eight matches, including the four-pointer that ultimately sealed the Premiership.

Following the Tarsha Gale Cup win, Pule was named the Player of the Match and also the NSWRL's Player of the Finals Series.

Pule represented Queensland in the Women’s Under 19s State of Origin (2022) and earned a spot in the Kiwi Ferns’ World Cup squad, scoring her first international try in the semi-final win over England.

The Sydney Roosters will continue to provide regular updates as its 2023 NRLW squad is finalised ahead of the competition’s pre-season commencing in late May.
